EMB America

EMB America LLC was formed in conjunction with EMB Consultancy LLP, a specialist non-life actuarial consultancy in the United Kingdom. EMB America brings together experts from the United States, as well as all over the world, to provide state of the art actuarial consulting and software in all areas of property casualty insurance. Areas covered, in particular, include: pricing, reserving, and reinsurance.

The EMB affiliated companies have a strong international client base, including North America, Continental Europe and Bermuda. While our range of services covers all areas of property casualty insurance we have specific expertise in reinsurance, personal and commercial lines, alternative risk mechanisms, London Market, liquidations and schemes of arrangement.

The managing directors are all acknowledged experts in their fields and have many years of property casualty insurance experience. Tom Hettinger brings expertise in reinsurance pricing and reserving as well as implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) processes and capital modeling.  Dave Otto is an expert on personal and commercial lines predictive modeling analysis, alternative risk solutions and also has years of expert testimony experience.  Serhat Guven is a technical expert on multivariate pricing, retention modeling, classification and tiering analysis, territorial ratemaking, and data management.  Jeff Kucera has extensive experience with multivariate analysis, creation of new class plans for homeowners and private passenger automobile, rate filings, expert witness support and reserving.  Andrew McLennan has significant experience from around the world in the implementation of ERM, including reserve variability, reinsurance analysis, capital setting and allocation.  Brett Nunes has extensive experience with building predictive models for commercial insurers and their implementation through rating, underwriting and marketing plans.  Geoff Werner has a wealth of knowledge in various areas such as multivariate analysis, territorial ratemaking, competitive measurement tools, impacts of legislation analysis, and implementation of tiering programs.

Our aim is to develop long-term relationships with clients, helping them to understand their data, finding solutions to complex problems and in doing so identifying business opportunities.

All of our software has been developed with the benefit of practical experience. As such, our software development team consists of both programmers and senior actuarial staff.
